Easy Cashless Payments with the QR Pay Feature on PermataMobile X!

Today, cashless payments have become a popular transaction method. Besides hastening the transaction process, cashless payments can also minimize physical contact, which has become an essential concern since the Covid-19 pandemic. Moreover, cashless payments are considered safer and more valuable because they use banking applications as the medium.

Not only does it make payments easier and quicker, but the PermataMobile X mobile banking application also provides various useful features, including QR Pay. QR Pay is a Cashless payment method by scanning a QR code!

What is QR Pay?
One of the excellent features of the PermataMobile X mobile banking application is QR Pay. The feature lets you make cashless payments by simply scanning the QR code with the QRIS logo through the PermataMobile X application. After that, the payment will be processed immediately by debiting your account contained in PermataMobile X.

What are The Available QR Payment Methods?

  • QRIS MPM Method
    QRIS MPM (Merchant Presented Mode) is a QR Payment method that customers can use through PermataMobile X. Customers can make payments by scanning the QR Code provided by Merchants. After that, customers just need to enter their PIN and complete the payment. Here are the sources of fund that can be used: 
    • Savings Account
    • Current Account
  • QRIS CPM Method
    QRIS CPM (Consumer Presented Mode) is also a QR Payment  that customers can use through PermataMobile X. Customers can make payments by showing the QR Code generated by PermataMobile X, which can then be scanned by the merchant. Here are the account sources that can be used:
    • Savings

Currently, the types of accounts that can be used for the QR Payment Service on PermataMobile X are as follows:

  • QR MPM: Savings Account and Current Account.
  • QR CPM: Savings Account.

However, the use of other  besides those mentioned above  also possible.

QR Payment Mechanism

  • QRIS MPM Methods
    Through the "QR Payment" menu
    • Customer logs in to PermataMobile X.
    • Customer selects “QR Pay” on the main page of PermataMobile X after logging in to PermataMobile X.
    • Customer scans the QR code with the QRIS logo through the QRIS sticker provided by the merchant or generated by the merchant through electronic media (EDC, mobile phone). The customer may receive one of the two types of QR codes with the QRIS logo that can be generated by the merchant, which are:
      • Static QR Code is a QR code that is static (does not change) and is typically in the form of a sticker/tent card found at the merchant's cashier.
      • Dynamic QR Code is a QR code that is dynamic, where the QR code changes every time a transaction is made. Typically, dynamic QR codes are printed by the EDC machine/POS terminal at the merchant's cashier.
    • After scanning, the customer confirms the transaction by selecting "Proceed".
    • The customer selects the source of fund to be used and enters the transaction amount.
    • The customer enters the MPIN code for PermataMobile X.
    • After the transaction is successful, the transaction receipt will be displayed.

    • To access the “QR Pay” icon, customers do not need to log in as the icon is available on the PermataMobile X login page.
    • Select the “QR Pay” icon on the login page.
    • Customers can scan the QR code with the QRIS logo through the QRIS sticker provided by the merchant or generated by the merchant through electronic media (EDC, mobile phone). Customers may receive one of the two types of QR codes with the QRIS logo that can be generated by the merchant, which are: 
      • Static QR Code, a QR code that is static (does not change) and is typically in the form of a sticker/tent card found at the merchant's cashier.

    • Information about the merchant will be displayed and the customer confirms the transaction by selecting “Proceed.”.
    • The customer will be required to log in.
    • After logging in, follow the e-g process in Table 1A.
  • QRIS CPM Methods
    Through the "QR Payment" menu
    • Customer logs in to PermataMobile X.
    • Customer selects “QR Pay” on the main page of PermataMobile X after logging in.
    • Customer selects “Show my QR” and chooses the “Make Payment” menu.
    • Customer enters the MPIN code for PermataMobile X.
    • Customer selects the source of fund.
    • PermataMobile X will display the QR code, and the customer can show the code to the merchant to be scanned.
    • After the transaction is successful, the customer will receive a notification and a transaction receipt.

    • To access the "QR Pay" icon, customers do not need to log in as the icon is available on the PermataMobile X login page.
    • The customer selects “Show my QR” and chooses the “Make Payment” menu.
    • The customer logs in and continues with the process in Table A, points d-g above.

Advantages of QR Pay PermataMobile X
As a cashless payment method, QR Pay has various advantages. Besides being safer because it doesn't require you to carry large amounts of cash, this payment method is also more helpful for merchants because there is no need to prepare change.

Pay Faster
Unlike the payment method using a card, which requires you to bring an ATM card and enter a PIN via an EDC machine, you can process payments made through the QR Pay simply by scanning a QR code with the QRIS logo found in every store or merchant.

You can scan QR codes with the QRIS logo through the PermataMobile X application directly from the application's interface. After scanning, all you have to do is enter or validate the payment amount, enter your mobile PIN, and complete the payment.

Safety Tips for Using QR Payment Services 
You don't need to worry about security when transacting with QR Payment through PermataMobile X, as it require Mobile PIN. However, to minimize security risks during payments or fund transfers, it's important to consider the following:

  • Keep Sensitive Data Confidential
    First and foremost, never disclose sensitive information such as User ID, password, Mobile PIN, OTP code, Response Code, PIN, and CVV to anyone, including those claiming to be from PermataBank or other official institutions. PermataBank will never ask for such information for any purpose. If disclosed to others, this data can be misused by irresponsible parties to deplete your account balance.
  • Regularly change PIN and passwords
     It's advisable to change your PIN and passwords for PermataMobile X transactions regularly, ideally every 3 months or immediately if you suspect that there are unauthorized transactions. When changing PINs and passwords, use a strong combination of numbers and letters that are easy to be remembered and do not contain personal information such as birthdates. This will further secure your mobile banking account and prevent misuse of sensitive information about yourself.
  • Use Secure Devices to Access PermataMobile X
    It's best to conduct transactions using PermataMobile X only with your personal smartphone or tablet. If not possible, at least use a device that you can monitor. When accessing your account from shared gadgets, others may see or even use your account, increasing the risk of misusag. Therefore, ensure that your device is 100% secure and under your supervision.
  • Double-check Fund Sufficiency and Transaction Details 
    Before authorizing any transaction, verify the amount and purpose of the transaction. Ensuring that you have sufficient funds for a transaction will prevent you from sending money exceeding limits or without further planning. This way, your account will be protected from misusage, and your funds will remain secure.
